Club History
Established in 1985 with Two Teams
Martin Weisberg and Tim Lancaster started The Bracknell Cavaliers Football Club in 1985 as the managers of two teams, the under 8’s and under 9’s respectively. Why The Bracknell Cavaliers, well, most of the people involved in the formation of the club were driving Vauxhall Cavaliers. We could have been called The Bracknell Cortinas or Jaguars!
Cavaliers Committee Members
Graham Pearce became the Club President after stepping down as Chairman in 2002 following 10years of service to the club.
Our current Chairman is Simon Lovett; his son played for the club for a number of years and now regularly referees for club matches. Both have received their 10years service recognition award. Keeping it in the family, Jen Lovett is now our Club Secretary and Tournament Organiser, looking after all the paperwork and FA, County and League administration. Jen has received her 6 years service award.
Kevin Haddock is our Treasurer. His elder son used to play for the club, whilst his younger son still plays for the club each week. They are both racking up their years of service and will hopefully receive their 6 years award very soon.
Mike Clothier is our Referees and Fixtures Secretary, having previously fulfilled other key committee roles. Mike’s two sons also played and refereed for the club for all their youth footballing career, with all 3 having received their 10 years service recognition award.
Marc Box is our Welfare Officer. His son still plays for the club; both have already received their 6 years service awards.
James Campbell is our Website Officer. His son, who continues to play for the club, has already earned his 6 years service award and James is fast catching him up.
Lastly, our honorary Vice-Presidents are Andy Dunbar and Barrie Smith. Andy’s son played for the club for 11 years starting at under 7s including 1 season with the Seniors and his daughter played for one of our girls teams. Both Andy and his son have received long-term service recognition awards from their club for their combined service of 30 years. Barrie Smith served two terms as chairman and his son played for the club for many years from Youth through to Seniors and now coaches within the club. Both have received their 10 years service recognition award. There are many other volunteers involved in the running of the club and our various teams.

Cavaliers Achieve Development Status
In 2006 the Cavaliers were one of the first clubs in the area to become a Charter Standard Club. In 2009 the Cavaliers became the the first club in the Bracknell area to be awarded Charter Standard Club Development Status by the Berks & Bucks FA.
Our First Six-a-Side Tournament
Wellington College was the venue for our first couple of six-a-side tournament in 1992 and 1993. In 1994 the tournament was held at Brackenhale School. For 16 years our tournaments was held at St. Sebastian’s. Since 2012 our tournaments are now even bigger and are located at Easthampstead Park School, the home of the Cavaliers.
Cavaliers Gain New Home Ground at Easthampstead Park School
After 16 great seasons at St. Sebastian’s the Cavaliers moved to Easthampstead Park School in 2011. This gave the club 5 pitches instead of the 3 at St. Sebs. The current configurations of these pitches are 11 a-side, 9 a-side, 2 x 7 a-side and 5 a-side. EP is also the winter training venue for the club on the new large 3G Astro pitch as well as the home of the very popular summer tournament.
